“Kicking The Habit…”

“But the allure of the game, keeps calling your name…”
Love is a powerful drug. It can be the most beautiful thing in the world while disguising itself as the most painful emotion known to man. It’s most obvious trait may actually be addiction. Stepping away from love proves to be an internal battle between one’s heart and mind. Such is the case with cultural icons, Jay-Z and Brett Favre.
Considered by many to be the best ever at their respective professions, the two are defined by their love of “the game” almost as much as their touchdowns and platinum selling albums. In fact, they’re lucky. Lucky in the sense they recognized their true calling and spawned it into a reality even they could never fathom. Most people go through their entire lives wondering what it is their destiny truly is. To Jay’s credit, his talent affords him the luxury of not having 300 pound grown men running to knock him senseless every Sunday. He does, however, tour extensively year round which takes a toll in its own right.

But when is the right time to call it quits? It’s a question which is pondered every year, but never has a concrete solution presented itself. That’s because there isn’t one. Choosing who/what someone falls in love with is as difficult as it is telling someone to fall out of it. Because of this adage, fiends like Brett and Jay should be allowed to continue to have an active role in their professions. As long as they are physically capable of doing so at a competitive level, of couse. They’ve earned the right.
If nothing else, they’re proof that in some extreme cases, wildest dreams really do come true.

01.26.10 on 5:36 pmThese men will never fall out of love with what they do. In a sense they’ll eventually sit back and relax(retire) and let they’re loves “love” them back.Hmmm…legends? Is that what we call them?
01.28.10 on 12:37 amIf u love what u do and u have the passion for it and u do it well, hell do it foreva!

01.28.10 on 11:36 pmYour dream can come true if you put forth affort to do it. Just like Jay and Favre they may have had a dream, now they went after it. You might fail the first time, but get back up and be determined like Jay and Favre!!
