“No Testimony Without a Test”
The older we get, the responsibilities and challenges we face get bigger and more difficult. Just when things have finally been going well for a while, something or someone comes along and turns our world upside down.
I’m sure you have heard the wise saying passed down from older generations that, “There is no testimony without a test.” A lot of times during tranquil moments, we stop praying or thinking about what God has done for us. We stop thanking Him and then when a “test” comes along we start calling on Him and expect Him to come running! God wants to know if we can trust him even in the midst of our troubles, heartbreaks, disappointments, grief, whatever it may be! How is He going to find that out or develop that in us, if we are not tested? He wants us to love Him all the time and not just for what He can do for us. Some people, including me at times, take on these victimized mentalities which cloud the things which should be the true focus. “What did I do to deserve this?” “Why is this happening to me now of all times?” I look at my plate and how full it is and I get overwhelmed! I don’t need to look at the plate though, I need to look to God and remember that He can do the impossible!
The tests that we encounter in life are essential to helping us appreciate good times more, teaching us life lessons and giving us a testimony to share. Whenever you find yourself dealing with really difficult times, remember that in order for there to be a valley, there has to be two mountains!

I know that sometimes when things are going great, I stop praying. It’s like I don’t need anyones help but this helped me to see I DO need God’s help, even when I’m doing great!

01.26.10 on 6:12 pmI’m embarrassed to pray now when things have gone a bit awry for me, cos I have not been praying, partying away,spending way 2 much money on things I dont need, now reality has struck and I’m thinking God must be thinking…well well well look what the cat dragged in, u aint so busy now huh!!! Bust seriously, thanks for the inspiration,it is exactly what I need. I had to find out when the girl went to court to put him on child support. So the kid is his and he is serving time in prison while I’ve been patiently waiting and standing beside him. Did I mention he gave me HIV? I been so wrapped up in my life that I forgot who God is. He showed me… Father forgive me for all my sins. This is my testimony

01.28.10 on 12:42 amI’m impressed… You have depth. Of course the saying “No Testimony without a Test” is cliché…but the way you expounded on the cliché was inspirational. I think its wonderful that you still admit that you need the Lord’s help. So many who have reached your level of success become haughty and act as if they control their success. But the balance of their success and fame, without going crazy is noting but the grace of God. Continue to stay humble and let the Lord bless you. But as we both know. Where much is given much is required… Are you meeting the expectations the Lord has set before you? It’s something that I wrestle with day after day, year after year, and season after season. But one thing remains constant, that is the Lord’s faithfulness. Whatever you commit to the Lord he will make a way for you to keep that commitment… that is if you truly want to keep it. It took some time, but I am starting to learn to just Trust God and leave the worries, anxiety, and fears to him. Because the truth is he doesn’t want us to WORRY!! I Love this post! Thanks again!

01.28.10 on 10:54 pmThat’s right because God said deny me in front of your friends I will deny you in front of my father!! People should realize that without God there is no you!! He gave us life, fresh air to breathe, but the best thing is he sacrificed his life to help us to forgive us. Yeah I mess up because i’m not perfect buy who is noone but God!! So when there is a problem don’t just choose that time to get close to God petend everyday you are going through something or just whenever and pray and think the Lord for allowing you to wake up and do what you do.

02.1.10 on 5:52 pmThat is so true and I agree with that 100% I think sometimes we forget that it’s because of God why we are even here, and its so easy to complain and blame it on someone else when something isn’t going the way we want it, but I think we should change that mentality and know that it’s because of God why we even woke up this morning. I feel what we get out of this world is what we put into it, like you can say you want to be a millionaire one day but if you aren’t doing anything to work towards it how is that suppose to happen? God helps those who helps themselves, so instead of wanting put it in your plan and say to yourself I dont just want this but I am going to get it. It starts off with believing in yourself, if you believe in yourself that’s when others believe in you, anything can be achieved once you put your mind to it and you stay focused. Life can be easy but we tend to make it difficult by the choices we make.

I feel what you get out of your life is what you put into it. God helps those who help themselves, you can achieve anything you want but you have to believe in yourself that you can do it. For example, a young man who loves basketball makes it his duty to be on that court practicing 7 days a week because that is his passion. You have those who would like to be a basketball player but are not on that court 7 days a week and are not practicing the way they should. If you put in the work you surely will see results in due time, patience is a virtue.
02.2.10 on 2:04 amthe bible says to pray with out ceasing. we should pray and thank God no matter what. He has a way of humbling me to remind me of his love, power, and will. I have not always been able to pray and thank God in the midst of a storm or a test. you are right he wants to know if we trust and love him even when things don’t go our way and when we are hurting. i love you for these posts. God is using you to help others. you are beautiful and sexy. you are amazing trey. don’t change for anyone except God and yourself. keep letting Jesus’ light shine through you. if we never go through things we can never experience God’s glory through Jesus. if you have never been hurt you can’t experience Jesus as a healer, etc. keep on doing you. God loves you Jesus loves you i love you.
